I am a mom that works everyday to stay afloat but have been struggling so very hard. I fell behind when I was diagnosed with cancer and could not work for a few months after surgery & treatment. When I came home from treatment, my husband who had been abusive for yrs was upset because I was not well enough to go back to work. He brutally beat me the day I got home & I had made a promise to God & myself that If I came through my surgery for cancer that I would no longer take the beatings from my husband & try to live lie to the fullest. After the beating I called the police & had him removed from the home & a protective order put in place. I found out that while I was going thru treatment my husband didnt pay any mortgage, bills or utilities. I struggled to catch up on my mortgage so that I would not lose my home. I worked with a morphine drip attached to my hip. I saved what i could & was able to get a mortgage loan modification but i had to give them all the money I had saved to go toward the arrears to show my intent. I had to let my electric bill suffer (which was in arrears fom my husband not paying). I made small payments towards it, but the arrears got to be so much that on Wed Jan 18th they finally shut it off. I can not afford to go anyplace after Ive struggled so hard to keep my home. I dont have anyone I can call for help! My teenaged son makes about $150/ wk & has been giving all he has & going to work as much as they will schedule him for & continue to go to school.I desperately need help because Ive been without power for three days now. my neighbor let me run an extension cords to her house so that my food in the refrigerator wont spoil. Were using candles when it gets dark but im so afraid a fire might start.We have to where layers of clothes in the house because my house is all electric so we dont have any heat or hot water. Im doing all I can & praying even more. If there is anyone who can help me, I dont want any money in my hands.
